An international disaster-monitoring record identified
flooding and landslides in parts of Tuscany following intense thunderstorms and heavy rain from 20 October.
The Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System listed 235 displaced people and no deaths in its event summary covering 7–22 October.
The event received an overall green classification, indicating a comparatively low estimated
humanitarian impact under the system’s assessment framework.
That classification does not mean individual communities escaped serious disruption.
GDACS describes its information as indicative and advises that it should not be used for decision-making without alternative sources. The figures therefore represent the monitoring record’s assessment, rather than a separately verified final casualty or
displacement count.
