Is your
desk always messy? Do you struggle to even find a pen amongst the piles of papers and tangled charging cords? It can be easy to let our
desk cleanliness fall by the wayside, especially if your
desk is out of sight of visitors. However a clean
desk can boost productivity and creativity, so here are 5 simple hacks to help keep your
desk organised:
1. Get a desk drawer organiser – If you’re sick of rummaging through that abyss of a top drawer for a paperclip or sticky note, this is a great investment! A
desk drawer organiser will help you keep all of your small stationery items separate and easy to grab at a moment’s notice.
2. Use Velcro adhesive strips on your cords – You can stick your power adaptors to the underside of your
desk in a neat row, getting them off the floor and preventing them from getting tangled.
3. Stick things to the wall – Literally anything! Whiteboards and pinboards are great for brainstorming, notes and reminders, but you can also make a tool shed-style pegboard to hold things like scissors, pen holders and rulers.
4. Buy or make a desktop organiser – This can be as simple as colour coding your pens and keeping them in different jars, or going all out and purchasing a premade desktop organiser.
5. Consider your storage options – Do you work mainly on the computer? A simple in-tray might suffice. If you need extra storage space for files, consider a
mobile pedestal filing cabinet or shelves.
