4 Kitchen Cleaning Hacks That Will Save You Time And Stress!

If you’re anything like me, you’ll know that when your kitchen gets messy it means that you’ve had a good time. Whether it’s from trying a finnicky new dish, hosting a dinner party or making macarons, the hours of fun often end up with spills, stains and a sink full of dishes. I get very stressed when my kitchen is a mess, but knowing some handy kitchen cleaning hacks has saved me lots of time and hair pulling! It sounds simple, but these 4 tips will help you make sure you’re not spending your whole day cleaning the kitchen:
1. Line your cabinets with wax paper – This my favourite kitchen hack. Cleaning the inside of cupboards and cabinets is a trying task, as you need to remove everything inside. Wax paper will collect the grime that builds up over time, and you can change it out much quicker than you can scrub the shelves!
2. Clean your drains to eliminate sink odour – No matter how much I scrub the sink, there’s often still odour coming from the built-up food residue in the drain. I like to first flush the drain with a jar of boiling water, then add a cup of baking soda followed by a cup of lemon juice. The chemical reaction will kill germs and clear the drain without using harsh chemicals.
3. Clean hard-to-reach areas with a paintbrush – The kitchen has so many nooks and crannies that get filled with crumbs and food. For detailed cleaning, I like to use a paintbrush, followed by a cloth.
4. Use baking soda and vinegar to clean your oven – My oven can get caked with burnt residue fairly quickly, and it can be one of the most stubborn kitchen areas to clean. Instead of using harsh degreasers and chemicals, I use traditional baking soda and vinegar – if you let it sit overnight, the grease will lift away easily.
