Didirri - Finding Honesty And Meaning Through Music

Didirri Peters (known by his artist name “Didirri”) grew up in the remote town of Warrnambool, surrounded by sprawling green paddocks and stormy coastal seas. He has been writing music for as long as he can remember, and his alternative indie/folk music blended with his candid lyrics has made him an Australian music success in the last four years. The sincere stories that he weaves through his songs come from a place of wanting to face the truth, however beautiful or confronting. In a world hungry for meaning and purpose, Didirri appeals to his audience with a compelling personality, captivating stage presence and honest approach to song writing, often delving into themes and topics that can be hard or confronting.
His debut EP, “Measurements”, is the perfect introduction to this remarkable artist. Songs like “Bird Sounds” capture the beautiful and sorrowful moments of a romantic relationship, while his track “Formaldehyde” deals with pain and loss, using a sensitive piano section blended with Didirri’s clear and soaring voice, steadily adding more instruments to reach a musical climax of sorrow and despair. The final song on the album, the more upbeat “I Can’t Get Last Night Out Of My Head”, provides a great contrast and showcases Didirri’s versatility as an artist.
Didirri’s second EP, “Sold For Sale” feels like a gentle hug. Though dealing with similar themes of heartbreak and mental anguish, Sold For Sale feels more hopeful than its predecessor. “The Critic” is an absolute standout song – it exhibits both Didirri’s musical abilities and his poetic lyricism in a profound way. The entire EP is music for musing, it’s music to show you that you’re not alone but most importantly, as Didirri himself describes it, it is music for lovers and over-thinkers.
Didirri is currently touring Australia, so do yourself a favour and grab some tickets!
