Sydney In A Day - Top 5 Things To Do

Sydney is one of Australia’s most beautiful cities, home to gorgeous beaches, beautiful harbours and famous landmarks. The best way to get around Sydney is by foot – many of the sights are in walking distance and there’s plenty to see along the way. Here are my top 5 favourite things to do in Sydney in a day:
1. Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay – Possibly Australia’s most famous landmark, The Sydney Harbour bridge is well worth the visit. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can fork out the cash to climb the bridge and see stunning views of the city and harbour. From the Harbour bridge, my favourite thing to do is walk around Circular Quay. Here you can see buskers and grab a bite to eat with a relaxing view of the harbour.
2. The Opera House – Another famous Australian icon, The Sydney Opera House is an architectural feat. You can take a guided tour or even catch a show.
3. Royal Botanical Gardens – Just a short walk from the Opera House is one of my favourite spots in Sydney. The Royal Botanical Gardens spread right to the edge of the water, so you can enjoy the peaceful greenery and native flora and fauna while watching the ferries on the harbour.
4. Sydney Ferry – Taking a Sydney ferry is almost a rite of passage. The ferries can take you further out to the coast or inland along the Paramatta River. Manly Beach is a popular spot for surfers and tourists, and can be reached by ferry.
5. The Rocks – The oldest area in Sydney, The Rocks is a must-see. Stroll through the cobbled alleyways and duck into the historic pubs. There are markets on Saturdays and a free walking tour every night at 6pm.
