Skyrim is an action role-playing game that took the world by storm when it was released in 2011. Despite it’s well known (and often hilarious glitches), this game broke sales records and won countless awards. You might be wondering why an 11 year-old game still has such a dedicated fan base, and why people are still playing it. Skyrim is known for it’s gorgeous aesthetic, but it also has an infamous and very active modding community. If you play the game on PC, you can install mods that enhance the graphics, add new gameplay mechanics and even create new questlines! This keeps the game feeling fresh.

The lore of the Elder Scrolls games is so in-depth that multiple books have been written about it and online fans are still arguing over the Nine Divines theology and Stormcloak vs Empire politics. Though the lore is rich, this shouldn’t deter new players – it’s easy to pick up and understand.
