A Houston man is facing felony charges after allegedly using a fake boarding pass to bypass TSA security and board a United Airlines flight to Los Angeles. This incident caused a significant delay and prompted a large law enforcement response.
- Abdulrahman Oriyomi, 25, is accused of circumventing security at Bush Intercontinental Airport on May 18. Surveillance footage shows him being escorted to a different TSA booth after initial difficulty with his boarding pass. He then proceeded to multiple gates and eventually boarded United flight 469 to Los Angeles by allegedly mimicking other passengers and evading gate agents.
- Once aboard, Oriyomi reportedly moved between seats and hid in restrooms. A flight attendant became suspicious when he gave the alias "Mr. Lopez" and no such passenger was on the manifest. The flight had to return to the gate, requiring all passengers to deplane and a security sweep. Investigations revealed his reservation had been canceled due to non-payment, and the boarding pass appeared forged.
- The unauthorized boarding delayed the flight by approximately three hours and led to a multi-agency response including HPD, FBI, and TSA. Oriyomi was issued a trespass warning and left the airport, but a warrant has since been issued for his arrest on felony charges.
