These messages reportedly contain incriminating details about obtaining black-market pills and span several years, continuing up to the week of her death.
- DEA agents executed a search warrant at Panettiere's West Hollywood home following her death on August 16, seeking evidence of black-market drugs and connections to a specific dealer. The search encompassed drug paraphernalia and any discovered substances. Neighbors reported observing individuals delivering small bags, believed to contain drugs, to Panettiere's residence over the years, with one such visit occurring the week before her death. Early toxicology reports suggest Panettiere died after ingesting an oxycodone pill laced with fentanyl. She was 36 years old. Panettiere was found unresponsive in a South Carolina Airbnb rental by her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach Hickerson, who attempted resuscitation before first responders arrived.
