Dodge is set to unveil a new performance-focused muscle car, the Copperhead SRT, which will serve as the halo vehicle for its SRT performance brand. This model is inspired by a past Dodge concept and draws design cues from both the Charger and the Viper.
- Dodge has teased two new performance vehicles, with the Copperhead SRT being positioned as the flagship for the SRT brand, evoking the legacy of the Dodge Viper. A model observed by Car and Driver was described as long, low, sleek, and aggressive, sharing design elements with the Charger, indicating a V8-powered, coupe-style vehicle with enhanced performance.
- The Copperhead SRT is expected to feature a Charger-based platform, incorporating aggressive styling with numerous vents, slim LED headlights, an S-duct on the hood, brake cooling vents, and a prominent rear wing. It may also include a double-bubble roof and extensive use of carbon fiber, potentially with copper accents.
- Power for the Copperhead SRT is anticipated to come from a V8 engine, possibly a Hellcat-based powertrain, aiming for over 800 horsepower, potentially with hybrid assistance. Dodge aims to compete with high-performance vehicles like the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and Ford Mustang GTD, though its exact capabilities are yet to be confirmed. A debut is not expected before the 2029 model year.
