Tesla maintains significant demand in Israel's used-car market, despite competition from Chinese brands. This trend is highlighted by search data on the Yad2 platform, which indicates a growing preference for electric vehicles across all types.
- The Tesla Model 3 is the most searched electric car on Yad2 by Israelis. In the competition for the top three most common electric cars, it leads in searches against the Geely Geometry C and BYD Atto 3. The Tesla Model Y also ranks high, ahead of models like the Xpeng G6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
- Overall demand for electrified vehicles in Israel has increased, with a 23% rise in searches for fully electric cars in Q1 2026 compared to the previous year. While hybrid demand is stable, plug-in hybrids have seen a slight decrease in demand.
- The supply share of electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and gasoline hybrids has increased, while gasoline and diesel vehicles have seen their market share decline. Gasoline engines still dominate but have seen a significant reduction in demand share.
- Cities with the highest ratio of electric vehicle inquiries per listing include Rishon Lezion, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv, suggesting faster inventory turnover due to improving charging infrastructure.
