  • Mitchell Robinson, who played throughout the NBA Finals with a broken right hand, caught a snake in San Antonio prior to Game 5. He posted a video of this event on his Instagram Story. This follows a previous instance during the playoffs where he caught a snake before a win against Atlanta. Robinson believes catching snakes is a good omen for the Knicks. The Knicks secured their first NBA championship since 1973, winning the series 4-1 against the San Antonio Spurs. Robinson made a crucial offensive rebound in the final minute of Game 5, contributing to the 94-90 victory. Jalen Brunson was named Finals MVP, scoring 45 points in the closeout game and receiving the Bill Russell Trophy for his performance. Robinson described Brunson's performance as "unreal." The Knicks have been together for eight years, with Robinson being the longest-tenured player. The cause of Robinson's hand fracture remains undisclosed by the team.
