A statewide concert series has launched in Pennsylvania to commemorate the United States' 250th anniversary. The inaugural event featured country music stars and the U.S. Army's oldest band, drawing a sold-out crowd. This series is part of Pennsylvania's official semiquincentennial celebration, aiming to unite communities through music.
- The Commonwealth Concert Series commenced on Saturday at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center with performances by country artists Cole Swindell and Gabby Barrett, alongside the West Point Band. Tickets for the event, organized by America250PA, were distributed for free and quickly sold out. The kickoff concert also served as "A Salute to Service and Sacrifice," honoring military personnel, veterans, first responders, and their families. Cassandra Coleman, executive director of America250PA, highlighted Pennsylvania's role as the "birthplace of American democracy" and the power of music to bring communities together. The series includes four additional concerts scheduled for June in various locations across Pennsylvania: Erie (June 6), Hershey (June 13), Wilkes-Barre (June 20), and Pittsburgh (June 27).
