School Holidays Already?! Fun New Ideas To Keep Your Kids Entertained

School holidays are a great time for kids to have a break from school, but as parents and guardians, it can be tricky to find ways to entertain them without breaking the bank! Fear not, here are some fun activities that you can try with your kids these holidays:
• Go to your local library – You may be surprised at just how much you can find! Libraries don’t just offer books, you can find ebooks, audiobooks, videos and music, and many libraries have school holiday programs, shows or events that are usually free.
• Have a treasure hunt – This is a great activity that gets kids active as well as encouraging their problem-solving skills. Hide a treat or present somewhere in the house or garden, and write a trail of clues leading to the treasure. Get creative with this – the clues could be cryptic, coded, they could contains pictures or maps or have tasks that your kids need to complete. It’s an escape room without the cost!
• Painting – Painting is an ideal activity for the holidays as it often requires a certain amount of setup/clean-up. Think of some new approaches to this activity – maybe your kids can paint an old wall or shed in the garden, or they can take turns painting on the one canvas to create a collaborative masterpiece.
• Make a movie – Most people have a camera on their phones nowadays, so why not make a movie with your kids? Encourage them to think of a story, write a script, choose characters and make costumes. If your children are older, they can watch online tutorials to teach them how to edit movies in iMovie or Movavi.
• Make an obstacle course – If your kids need some outside time, this is a fun activity that will get them moving. Create a course out of whatever you can find – outdoors furniture, boxes, benches etc and have your kids time themselves completing the course.
