How To Organise Your Pantry Like A Pro

Do you ever go to friend’s house and envy their perfectly arranged pantry? Does organising your
pantry seem like an overwhelming task? It can be time consuming, but creating an efficient and coordinated space in your
pantry will save you time and energy when
cooking. Here are some of the methods I’ve used to
declutter and organise my
pantry, and you can use them too!
1. Completely empty the pantry
Throw out any expired
food and give all the surfaces and walls a wipe down. It will make it easier to start with a blank slate.
2. Sort everything into categories
I like to do this on the kitchen floor (after I’ve mopped it!) because I can see the categories clearly. Group items together in a way that makes sense to you. For example, I group baking goods together, sauces together and dry goods like pasta and rice together.
3. Find some containers
Containers will stop your
food from getting stale and assist with labelling and storing. Check the shelf height before you make your purchases
4. Buy some baskets
I like using baskets for loose items, like bags of nuts/dried fruit and packets of biscuits. Use different-sized baskets for different packages.
5. Label all your items
This makes it easier to find things at a first glance, and also helps in maintaining your
pantry. You can get a fancy label maker, but labels on masking tape will work just fine if you need something fast! I personally like the stickers from Pretty
Pantry Labels.
