Shanna Stofer named new CEO for Mary Lanning Healthcare

Mary Lanning Healthcare (MLH) in Hastings has appointed Shanna Stofer as its new CEO, effective July 13. Stofer brings extensive experience from her previous roles in healthcare administration, notably with Methodist Health System. The MLH Board of Trustees selected her from over 100 applicants, citing her visionary leadership and commitment to Nebraska healthcare.
- Shanna Stofer's prior role at Methodist Health System involved overseeing a broad range of integrated services, including patient transportation, environmental services, food services, plant operations, safety, security, and emergency preparedness. She also has experience at hospitals in Syracuse and Lincoln, and was part of the team that launched Kearney Regional Medical Center in 2014. The MLH Board emphasized their search for a leader who could build trust, transparency, and accountability. Stofer holds degrees from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Bellevue University, and is an active member of professional healthcare organizations, including the Nebraska Hospital Association's Policy Development Committee. She succeeds interim CEO David Zechman, who served after Eric Barber's 12-year tenure. Mary Lanning Healthcare is a 130-bed hospital.
